Director’s Report

Kingswood Holiday Collage is nearly ready

Sara reports that the annual Kingswood collage is at the top of her photograph list of chores.  It will be ready for publication soon.  This year, however, there is a catch involved with getting it mailed to your postal address:  We need that address to be submitted into our CampInTouch data base.

In order to access your CampInTouch account, use the following link:
https://kingswoodcamp.campintouch.com/v2/login/login.aspx

When you enter your email address, the system will recognize you (as long as you use the email address we have on file).  Next, click “email an account reset invitation” so you can set up your password. This is a one-time inconvenience- from now on you will be recognized immediately and sent into your account. Save that password!

Many boys tell me that their collages are proudly displayed at home.  As a tease — to get you or your parents to post your address — here are some segments from the past three holiday collages:

Lots of good frolicking going on in this one. Shupe holding Sebastian like a football is worth a good chuckle. I wonder if his socks match?
Lots of good frolicking going on in the 2013 volume. Shupe holding Sebastian like a football is worth a good chuckle. I wonder if his socks match?  Nate’s beard is cool, and was subject to many imitations.  Who is the target of Oliver’s squirt gun?  Just beneath Danny’s red bat, you can see a distressed Birthday Tsar.  Remember why?
The bug on Xan's nose is hilarious.
The bug on Xan’s nose is hilarious. Can you find two people who are pictured twice each?  Easy one.
What is camp without Matt J. being willing to play the fool?
What is camp without Matt J. being willing to play the fool?  Look just above Matt’s head and you see the blue outline of Moosilauke.
There is Moosilauke again, the exact same picture. One of the great treats of every collage is the tricky repeats of photos and other images.

Do you see it here?
Do you see it here?  Oops, I think I see Moosilauke a third time, too.  I can also observe one of those clever imitations of Nate’ beard, as well as Nate’s beard!

Blue Moose appears one more time.  Love the slow dance, Vernon.  Charlie’s great catch, of a different sort than Vernon’s, dominates this section.  All this makes for a terrific 2013 collage.
Here is a screen shot of the 2012 version.
Here is a screen shot of the top half of the 2012 version. “Legalize Jimmy Lee”  Huh?  “Kuster for Congress”  Huh?  Ah, but I see Mr. Weird, so all must have turned out fine that year, after all.
Bottom half, 2012
Bottom half, 2012.  Bottom left:  Does anyone remember how George got a pie in his face?  He does NOT have a camp birthday.
Top of 2011 collage:
Top of 2011 collage:  This quite obviously is the work of Sara.  Do you see Kiki, the rabbit?  Smart stuff, too, to be taking hoops pics while we are ahead in the score.  And, how about Nick The Birthday Tsar shown against the backdrop of a Kingswood Tie-dye shirt.  Great photography, eh?
Well
Well, Sara certainly loves those camp animals.  I’ll bet that some of them are duplicated in hard-to-find spaces.  Go up to your bedroom wall and check on this.
That Moxie soda can
That Moxie soda can appears out of no where.  Try Moxie if you enjoy a putrid carbonated taste.  The Moxie can is repeated, naturally!  Again, go find it, if you save your collages.
Lastly, how about a huge shout for Todd, who invented the collage way back in 1990. I have on my office wall one of the earliest printed versions of the collage -- 1999. At extreme bottom-right, is a photo of a dangling microphone. You need to turn the page upside down to find it: but there, in place of the speaker head, very minuscule, is Todd's face!
