Director’s Report

Fishing for fotos

Well, I nearly named this post “Potpouri #2” but went with the above instead.  Not only does the report below feature a couple fishing pictures, but also I spent a fair amount of time yesterday casting about in search of boys who had not made too many appearances in these daily reports.

The War Canoe is seen twice, once with staff observers of evening lake activities and another time having just capsized in a clinic.  That boat, when loaded, is very tippy.

Three different music clinics are shown.  The song writers on the porch are writing and performing their own song, and it sounded great already to me as I passed by the still-in-progress endeavor.

Catch 22 is a football-lacrosse game and the photos do not do justice to the enthusiasm radiating from this gang.

Oh, those fitness guys were in pain, having decided to do a particular set of exercises at each station — in this case, all 14 cabins.  Ouch!  Golf, cooking and sailing clinics speak for themselves.

Andrew, being hoisted up by older boys, had just reached his last pre-requisite for the Varsity Club, our hiking fraternity, by scaling Mt. Cube.  Quite a few lads are itching to hike and we hope to exploit any good weather (finally in the forecast) to get kids out there on the trail.

Lastly, we had two terrific fishing outings to Indian Pond, our lone off-campus spot this year when rivers are at the dangerous flood stage and therefore off the Kingswood calendar.  Todd’s very entertaining bit at breakfast involved stories of past trips where smaller fish had been tossed back, only to grow into the whoppers pulled in last evening.  Even yours truly received praise for the supposed release I made several years ago.  Good camp.
