Autumn is my favorite sports time of the year. My teams in baseball and football are doing very well, thank you, and I probably will become sleep deprived as the baseball playoffs advance — hopefully with the Curly W crew deeply involved. With sports contests in mind, therefore, I offer today’s report.
Mem Field had a big league feel to it on Pemi Day. Kingswood’s ace, Timmy, no doubt ripped a fastball over the heart of the plate.On that same day, Devin struck out 18 batters!Since when are you allowed to carry a soccer ball in your hands?Kingswood “Gator Ball” is the correct answer.But, you get more points if you kick a goal, as Nathan achieved in this Bow & Arrow game.Soccer games are always a great spectator sport …as leg battles for ball control…booming kicks…and head balls are commonplace occurrences.Kickball deserves a mention in this report…and we have several versions of this popular game.The bocce balls come out more than you would guess…but we’ll leave it to Kelmo to explain why he watches this game with an umbrella on a sunny day!But basketball is probably Kingswood’s most popular sport…where we have had the best luck in inter camp contests.This director, however, will choose an intramural hoops game (PGB) as his number one Kingswood sport contest — not to miss it.
