My how time flies. Already another year has passed and it is time for our first holiday report of 2014. After the last pic, I will paste a link to last year’s Thanksgiving suggestions, just in case you have saved room for a second helping. Immediately below, we offer some Turkey-day things you just have to expect and endure. Enjoy!
Some one in the family will tell you he got up early in the morning to shoot the turkey.Macy’s parade will be featured on the tube…perhaps just before the family touch football game in the back yard. For many, the pro games will be featured on TV, too. But, the action will turn to food once everyone has showered and cleaned up, according to family protocol. In many homes, soft music will replace the clamor of parades and football.A family elder will remind one and all that Thanksgiving comes to us from the earliest settlers, who celebrated a bountiful harvest.Holiday tables will be decorated with nice centerpieces…some even flowing over! And, finally the feast will commence…with different carving styles noted. At least one person will prefer the leg…while someone else’s eyes may be be bigger than his stomach…and, of course, there is a glutton in every crowd.Yet, good manners will prevail…nobody will throw food…and perhaps, but no guarantee here, the Kingswood Block Game will not happen in anyone’s home.Cleanup at most Thanksgiving tables will be politely done…with kudos galore for the prime contributors…and, one heck of a mess left in the kitchen.
