Director’s Report

On the Waterfront

A “Scorcher” is the best term for yesterday’s weather condition.  Mike had the answer for the afternoon activities:  On the Waterfront.

Below find photos of boys taking a lazy tube trip.  “I slept on one of these excursions,” I hollered at the boys, a couple of whom took me for my word, evidently.

White Sands was another option.  At the shallow end of Lake Tarleton, this a great spot for some football tossing and keep away games.  Note the lifeguard rescue tube (the long red device trailing a kayak) as we never take anything for granted.  Mike radioed down to White Sands that perhaps a thunder boomer was on the way, so the boys departed for home with plenty of lead time to be back at camp before the would-be shower missed us entirely, anyway.

Lastly, one of our strictest rules is “no horseplay during general swim,” that is unless it is organized and supervised as were the zany games held for juniors.

Today promises to be another sultry one and Mike has the perfect solution:  Same three options again but for different age groups this time.  That announcement, just made at breakfast, was heartily cheered!
