Even crusty old-timers will admit that half the chuckles we get here at camp arise from the actions and words of our youngest boys.
Juniors (mostly) are featured today in everything from their clinics to A/B Block choices to the final event of the day, our spiritual council fire meeting at dusk.
By “spiritual,” I do not mean “religious” in any way other than to suggest that when a collectively happy community like ours gets together to share stories, recount camp historical events, and offer musical entertainment, it adheres to many sacred traditions of the early American Indians. We talked about that last night, and, by the very quiet and reflective staring into the dying embers of the fire by all, one could sense that the idea hit home to many.
