Slogging Along
June 30, 2023
Sorry to be late with my report this morning, but I have been busy editing all the great photos submitted by various counselors who were out on trips yesterday.
The sun did peek out a bit but clouds won the day, even though it did not rain at all. Funny, but just as I acknowledged that camp was a long slog, we jumped into an aggressive lineup of hiking options, along with an overnight excursion to our best campsite on the lake, a place we call Pirates’ Cove.
All the trips reported very muddy conditions and the campout at the far end of the lake was changed from a hike along the Lakeside Trail to a canoe/kayak expedition due to potential impassable conditions where a couple of small streams empty into Lake Tarleton.
Much better than any report coming from me today is time you can spend sorting through the large batch of photos available to you through your CampInTouch accounts. There are five albums of pix just from yesterday with the trips reports taking up four of them. More are coming later on this morning so be sure to check back in from time to time.
The overnighters awoke this morning to a foggy white out. No groaning necessary; morning fog is a sure sign of a sunny day to follow and those most welcome rays are streaming in my window as I write these words. I observed several counselors with sign-up sheets in hand so I am assuming that more trips and special activities are on tap for today.
I’ll add an addendum to this short report once I find out what is happening! Talk to you later.
