Some specifics on the “new stuff” for Summer 2015 We promised a reasonably detailed report on some of the changes in store for Summer 2015. Here are some of them. We are very confident that Tramp Field will return to its glory days, before Pines Field was carved out of the dense woods. The footing at Tramp Field should be soft, not squishy, and thus perfect for Crosbee and Gator Ball. Tchoukball — hopefully to be renamed “Rebound ball,” is a new game for Tramp Field that Mike Wiff thinks will be immensely popular. In so many words, a player tries to blast the ball at the net so that it caroms in such a way that the other team cannot catch it on the rebound. Here is a screen shot that shows how the game works. How much do you want to bet that Kingswood will invent some new games out of this original idea? Mike also has purchased a game called Kapla. It does rain from time to time in New Hampshire, so imagine a building competition going on in the Great Room. How about this one? Perhaps the winner… or, maybe this one takes top prize — a handshake at Kingswood, as you all know! Remember the occasional person standing on a paddle-surfboard, “canoeing” his way down Mother Tarleton? We now have four “Biscup” boards. We can certainly imagine some great races on these devices. The “Theater in the Pines” will go right here, in front of Shupes’ place. Like we told you before, it will encircle some of the trees, making for some elaborate stage entrances/exits! The compound bow program will be moved to a new grassy area somewhere behind the Music Room. Here is the inside of the Music Room (aka. The Seasick Crocodile Recording Studio) taken last autumn after Dan had built the new window frames. Much brighter and airier! We will lower those strapped rims on Pines Field and have a “Dunkball” tournament. So, you want to move up a notch in the sailing department? Two of these Hartley boats will be bobbing on their buoys in the Kingswood Marina come opening day, 2015. And, saving the best for last. Mr. Wiff is sponsoring a 5-man J-ball (tennis baseball) tournament and HE is playing!
