Nine holes of frisbee golf that are set in a beautiful location as well as being very difficult are the content of half of today’s photo report. This is a new course, way down the hill, to complement our 18 hole traditional layout, known to all Kingswood campers and alumni. This one can be played at most any time of day, as it conflicts with just about no other activity, except for the sailing program. You’ll figure out why as you scroll down today’s offerings. I am planning on making a full report on the Lethal 9 over the winter months ahead.
The Lethal 9 was just one of several “never before” activity options for yesterday’s A Block, a gorgeous afternoon as you can clearly see.
Quite a few boys opted for the “un-dye” clinic, at which Raven showed boys how to iron images onto T-shirts already colored. They played a couple funny group story-telling games while waiting for the shirts to dry. A couple other campers mounted the large obelisk next to the nature building before their ironing time came up.
Lastly, we conducted our second Franconia ridge hike of the week. These fellows endured a freak hail storm on what was clearly a perfect hiking day, proving once and for all that the Kingswood rule of never taking the mountains for granted is sound policy, indeed. That these lads had enough body heat remaining to take a plunge in Cloudland Falls testifies to the endurance of youth. While you are at it, check out some of Rob’s VIMEO reports of this week, which I think are fabulous renditions of life at Kingswood. You’ll both see and hear the falls, getting a true feel for the place as well as a warm fuzzy over your son’s opportunities at camp. (Simply click on that “V” icon on the web site.)
