Time Out

Yesterday brought the very first “lowery” day of the entire summer. The clouds were thick and almost to the ground.
It was tempting to move all activities indoors but we chose instead to maintain course at least through the dinner hour. After that time, it became not so much a driving rain as an intermittent showery and windy evening.
The campers, having had a major activity run for three weeks, were happy to get a respite from the ordinary and used the “time out” to prepare some entertaining skits in the Great Room of the Main Lodge.
“I’d rather be kicked than ignored” feels this old fellow as grandson Liam did a nice job of imitating me.
For the next three days, Alice, Sara and I are taking a time out from camp to attending a family reunion in Elmira, NY. We will be back Tuesday afternoon in time for me to crank out both some RIGHT NOW photos and plaster together a quick blog.
Tomorrow’s blog and photo set from me have already been created. Rob will post them in the morning. Old photos, of course, but commentary I could easily have added at any juncture. Enjoy.
Mike tells me that this afternoon we will change things around so that rest hour commences at 3pm, just at the start of the World Cup soccer finals between Spain and Argentina. That sounds like excellent planning by our ever-adaptable program guys.
My photo set entitled RIGHT NOW is going up without commentary or editing. This is how it has to be. My granddaughter Anya is eager to get on the road.
