Director’s Report

2013 Directors’ Commentary

Grammarians will immediately notice the s-apostrophe on the word Director in today’s Blues Buster title.  This year’s essay is a joint effort between Rob and me.  Click on the link below to read the full commentary.  The link is pasted a second time after the photo report, which gives a short history of our family  stewardship of the Kingswood  business.

Not long thereafter, Bobby Wipfler was a camper at Camp Norway in Vermont, not 30 minutes away from the camp I eventually would run. That’s me in the middle

Fast forward to 2005, when we celebrated 25 years at the helm at Kingswood!

and being the gracious Camp Mother.

For my part, I get hauled in whenever they need someone to help execute any of our thousand annual traditions.

J-Ball is my favorite camp activity, one that I feel deserves Olympic medal status!

Basically, I simply go where the boys are!

Mike is the tireless Program Director. He’s got a rubber arm and pitches for both the Bows and the Arrows in color war.

Cristin is both a dietitian and lifeguard, two essential jobs at camp.

Baibhav now has a great job in South Carolina, but that does not stop him from making an annual pilgrimage to New Hampshire. He comes for vacation purposes but I usually order him into the kitchen as his Asian dishes are fabulous culinary delights.

But, the brunt of today’s report features son, Rob, who now joins his pop as Co-Director of Kingswood.

Yes, one of his personal traditions is to feed boys absurd foods in Woodsville on July 4.

It took a map nearly 100 years old to locate an ancient cemetery way back in the woods. Rob was expedition leader.

Rob and Becky now have moved full time to Lyme, New Hampshire. Read the commentary associated with this Blues Buster to glean the significance of this action.

Needless to say, they love the hills!

And, in Lyme, Miles will have plenty of room to roam. Becky can teach. Rob can run camp from the northern viewpoint. Here again is the link to the joint commentary:
