Director’s Report

A Kingswood Treasure Hunt

A family friend named John was at both family weddings this August.  He must have had some time on his hands between the events, as he prepared the following Kingswood treasure hunt for summer 2013.  Side story:  Rob Wiff, on the very day of his ceremony, took a solo walk about the property in order to have a few moments to himself.  He discovered the treasure!

The game is as follows:  Find the treasure next summer.  Leave it in place.  Tell Rob where it is located.  He’ll place your name on the list of finders.  At the end of each session, we will conduct a raffle with several prizes available to all the winners.

I, personally, do not know where the treasure is hidden.  But, I have studied the poem and am willing to guess that the treasure is located somewhere in, or close to,  the pictures which follow.  So, study the poem and the photos.  Do not report your ideas to anyone else.  The fewer number of finders improves your odds of winning the raffle.  It is that simple.

A Kingswood Challenge

Come ye all, Come ye all, Kingswood Camp men.

And discover a treasure that is hidden within.

Keen eye, and word sense, and an inquisitive mind

Is all that one needs to get to “The Find.”

Neither age, nor grade, nor height is required.

Just diligence and a good walk-about will get one inspired.

The treasure tis little…. Eight pieces of silver,

Though more than a pound, there’s no fear of pilfer.

Not building nor boulder conceals treasure’s find,

Rather standing tall sentinel is a twin-trunked pine.

No water from treasure’s nest is round to be seen,

But the path of all cinder is surrounded by green.

A roadway to follow calls seekers for sure,

First looking left, then right to follow treasure’s lure.

Once close, distance gates bekon Kingsmen “Come Hither.
For a summer of memories before the snowballs weather.

Five steps taken skyward brings one closer to fame,

Though the diamond in the rough is the name of the game.

So look ye all, search ye all, listen to stories of ghosts,

But follow this piece of the puzzle to one of five posts.

In bounty worth savoring apart from the rest,

Is waiting for finding to proclaim you’re the best

So by reading and thinking and following the clues,

This adventure ends with a message that “Congratulates You.”
