Director’s Report

Kingswood Teases

This is the first of many reports to follow, in which we reveal plans for the upcoming summer.  Of course we want the glow of Kingswood to remain the same forever.  But, we are working on the details of several new ideas, certain to add to the already grand luster of camp.  Please stay tuned to the Blues Busters in the immediate weeks, as the “teases” of today will give way to very specific details regarding what you can expect to find at camp in 2015.

One new thing you will see this summer is lots of grassy areas behind the Guides Lodge and Music room. One instant observation: What a grand place for an extremely difficult Frisbee golf course: "The Bloody Nine" -- red poles, of course.

as we have conquered the problem of water puddling into the council fire area at the bottom of the hill. We are going to ask the man who built the Bubbler water fountain to build a new totem pole in this now "high and dry" spot.

See those woods behind these ball players? Something new is going back there -- not a building, but very interesting nonetheless!

Beach Tennis was so popular on Pines Field that we have thought of additional games to bring to this very active site.

But, since this report is a “tease” you will have to wait until next time to learn more about waterfront additions!
OK, I'll be forthright the rest of the way in this report. We are going to build a "Theater in the Pines" near the Shupe cottage at the far end of Pines Field. We will have lots more to say about this in upcoming Blues Busters.

Guides and CIT's can count on having a night-time basketball intramural league. In fact, we are going to leave the planning and execution of the league largely to you guys yourselves.

Let's invite the ladies over for a hike or a rousing game of Packerball. That first, then dance!
