Director’s Report

Kingswood Loves its Families (II)

Here we go with part II of the report on the testimonials offered by the 2016 parents in the past month or so.  Next week we will start showing photos of boys who are re-upped for 2017.  We are over half-full for next summer and it’s only October.  Huzzahs, or something!!

Our son has grown from a wonderful 10 year old boy to a fine young man who, at 16, has enormous promise and great opportunity ahead of him, largely thanks to his Kingswood experiences.

He thanked us for giving him the best summer of his life and has already asked to return next year. I think that says it all!

Kingswood is one of the finest entities we have ever known or been a part of. The camp is a special place for boys to learn and have fun all within the oversight of a family committed to the enjoyment and betterment of boys and belief that when treated with respect and appreciation, those boys eventually become good men like the men (and women) who are their staff and mentors at the camp. The Kingswood friends our son has made over the years, both young and seasoned, mean the world to him and have helped shape him into the bright, funny, determined and appealing kid that he is.

This is a gem of a camp and I was impressed that it caters to so many different types of boys. A really inclusive camp.

I esp. enjoy big Wiff’s commentaries, as they bring to life the “culture” of Kingswood in a manner that the photos alone do not, which I value.

I felt very comfortable that he was well cared for and safe during hikes and on the lake. As a mother, that is key of course:) He absolutely loves it there. This year was especially enjoyable. The kids and all staff are beyond cheerful and genuinely enthusiastic. I neither heard or saw a single negative interaction. It appeared to be a very cohesive group. Always a great vibe. I am thrilled for him that he feels so at home there and each year can hardly wait to go back. Thank you all.

Such a terrific overall environment for the boys! The confidence, independence, excitement and happiness our son feels at Kingswood could not be gotten anywhere else. He learns things there about managing himself, being part of a team and about real life that are priceless

Every time I try to get in contact I receive a response very soon, and always willing to help me with any need, I appreciate that a lot.

Rob took the time to understand our son’s behavioral challenges before his arrival to camp and took the right steps in helping him best manage things.

Thank you for running a spectacular camp. Every aspect deserves praise – great staff and counselors, fantastic food, wonderful environment. The activities and traditions are all fantastic.

Bob’s reports were a delight to read & really helped paint the picture of their daily life. Rob’s videos and Sara’s photos are likely unparalleled in the camp world. They are simply amazing!

When we asked him what suggestions he may have for camp he said, ” They got it figured out!”

  1. Awesome stuff and all accurate descriptions of one of the best camps (and people) in the country. Very much appreciate your visiting our home over the winter and making our three boys first camp experience an exceptional one. Thanks again!
